The Existing Conduit Advantage

This Plymouth installation showcases how smart planning during home construction pays dividends years later. The homeowner's fireplace feature wall came equipped with an existing conduit—a hidden pathway inside the wall specifically designed for cable management. Rather than drilling new holes or running surface-mounted cable covers, we were able to route the Samsung Frame's One Connect cable through this pre-installed conduit, delivering a truly invisible connection from the TV down to the cabinet below.

What Made This Install Different

• Samsung Frame mounted with the Slim Fit Wall Mount so the finished setup reads like wall art, not a standard black TV hanging off the wall.
• TV positioned above a Gas fireplace with mounting height, heat, and viewing angle handled before drilling.
• Mounted on Drywall with built-in cabinetry, which requires the right drill technique, anchor selection, and careful leveling for a clean finish.

Why This Matters:

The Samsung Frame TV is designed to look like a piece of art, but that aesthetic is compromised if you can see cables running down the wall. The One Connect system uses a single, nearly invisible cable to link the display to the external connection box—but "nearly invisible" isn't good enough when you're paying for a TV that doubles as artwork.

The existing conduit in this Plymouth home made all the difference. We fished the One Connect cable through the wall, running it down inside the left cabinet where the cable box and other components now live completely out of sight. The result? A Samsung Frame that actually looks like a framed painting above the fireplace, with zero visible cables, boxes, or clutter.

The Technical Execution

Mounting a 65-inch Samsung Frame above a fireplace requires precision, especially when working with built-in cabinetry on both sides. The TV needed to be centered not just on the fireplace, but within the overall wall composition—including those symmetrical white bookshelves flanking the fireplace.

Installation Process:

1. Located wall studs through the drywall above the fireplace for secure anchoring
2. Installed Samsung's slim-fit wall mount, designed specifically for the Frame's flush aesthetic
3. Carefully routed the One Connect cable through the existing conduit
4. Positioned the One Connect box inside the left cabinet, with ventilation and easy access
5. Connected cable box and streaming devices to the One Connect box
6. Leveled and aligned the TV for perfect symmetry with the surrounding cabinetry
7. Activated Art Mode to verify seamless integration with the room's décor

The black tile fireplace surround created a natural contrast that makes the Samsung Frame pop when displaying artwork, while the white built-ins provide the clean, gallery-like framing that complements the TV's design philosophy.

Plymouth: Western Suburb Sophistication

Plymouth has long been one of the most desirable suburbs in the Twin Cities west metro, known for its excellent schools, beautiful parks, and high-quality housing stock. From the established neighborhoods near Medicine Lake to the newer developments around Plymouth Creek and throughout the city, homeowners here invest in premium home features—and expect professional installation to match.

This installation exemplifies what Plymouth homeowners value: smart use of existing infrastructure, attention to the home's architectural details, and a finished result that elevates rather than compromises the living space. The built-in cabinetry and fireplace surround in this home clearly weren't afterthoughts—they were designed into the home's original construction. Our job was ensuring the TV installation respected that design intent.

Why Plymouth Homeowners Choose The Mounting Man:

• Experience with premium installations in high-end homes
• Respect for existing construction and finishes
• Specialized knowledge of gallery-style TVs like the Samsung Frame
• Ability to leverage built-in infrastructure (conduits, recess boxes, cabinet spaces)
• Clean, cable-free results that maintain the home's aesthetic

Plymouth's western metro location means we're frequently serving this community, from Medicine Lake area estates to newer construction throughout the city. Whether it's a Samsung Frame above the fireplace or a full home theater setup, Plymouth homeowners trust us to deliver results that match their investment in their homes.

Samsung Frame: Art That Happens to Be a TV

The Samsung Frame continues to be one of our most requested installations, and for good reason. In Art Mode, it displays museum-quality artwork or personal photos at 4K resolution, with a matte screen that mimics canvas texture and customizable bezels that look like real picture frames.

In this Plymouth home, the Samsung Frame fits perfectly with the sophisticated living room design. The white built-in cabinetry, black tile fireplace, and gray walls create a neutral, gallery-like backdrop—and the Frame becomes the centerpiece artwork. When guests walk in, they see a stunning framed piece above the fireplace. Only when it turns on does it reveal itself as a 65-inch 4K QLED television.

Key Samsung Frame Features:

• Art Mode with thousands of artworks from world-renowned museums
• Customizable magnetic bezels in multiple styles and colors
• 4K QLED display with Quantum Dot technology
• Anti-reflective matte display that looks like real canvas
• Slim-fit wall mount for flush, picture-frame positioning
• One Connect box for hidden component and cable management
