Old downtown is not north Carrollton

The historic downtown is a small center of older commercial buildings and nearby houses. A mount there starts with the room you have: ceiling height, any plaster or remodel, and whether you rent. Farther north, along the Hebron and Austin Ranch side of the city, the buildings are more often townhomes and planned-community houses with shared entries. Tell us which Carrollton this is. A photo of the downtown square will not stand in for a townhome wall.

Austin Ranch crosses city lines

Austin Ranch describes itself as sitting in The Colony, Carrollton, Plano, and Frisco, west of the Dallas North Tollway and south of State Highway 121. That is useful, because a monument sign can disagree with the city on your lease. Book the city on the installation address, and put Austin Ranch in the notes if that is the entrance. Apartments in that area need the building name, the unit, and parking. A house on a Carrollton street in the same general area needs the fireplace and the sofa. Do not average them.

The county is a tax fact, not a wall fact

Because Carrollton extends into Dallas, Denton, and Collin counties, two neighbors can have different county names and the same kind of drywall. Do not choose a mount from the county, and do not switch this page for a Denton or Collin page unless the city name changed. Lewisville is north, Addison is south, and Irving is southwest. If a community gate faces a different city from the one on your deed, trust the deed for the booking and the gate directions for arrival.

Our Austin Ranch lease says The Colony, but the sign is closer to Carrollton. What do we enter?

Enter the city and street on the lease or the installation address, whichever is the property's actual address. Mention Austin Ranch so the entrance makes sense. The page title does not override the address.

Does a Collin County portion of Carrollton get booked as Plano?

No. If the city is Carrollton, book Carrollton even when the county is Collin. Plano is a different city with its own page.
