TV mounting in Fort Worth

Fort Worth is not a smaller Dallas. The near south side still has historic bungalow districts, and the far north has newer streets toward Alliance. Those are different rooms, and the mount has to follow the one you live in.

From $200 for a TV up to 60 inches. Pay only when the job's done.

The Mounting Man

Fairmount/Southside is a city historic district about two miles south of downtown, described in the city's own guide as an early streetcar suburb where wood-frame bungalows are the most common house form. Mistletoe Heights is a separate historic district on the bluffs above the Clear Fork. Berkeley Place and Ryan Place sit nearby. That history is useful when you tell us which streets to use. It does not reveal whether a later owner opened the wall, added plaster, or built a new house on an old lot. If you want original trim left alone, say so before anyone marks a height.

A low bungalow ceiling changes the height

In a one-story bungalow, the screen often has less vertical room than it would in a two-story family room on the north side. Sit in the chair you actually use and compare a spot over the fireplace with a flat stretch of wall beside it. A mantel in a compact room can push the picture higher than is comfortable. If the fireplace is brick or stone, send a close view of the face and a wider view that includes the seating. The finish we can see is not the structure that has to hold the TV.

New north-side houses bring a different problem

A house toward Alliance may have a tall family room, a builder fireplace, and a pre-wired opening that was centered on the wall rather than on the sofa. Mark where you sit before you accept that opening. Westover Hills is its own city beside Fort Worth, so use the city printed on the installation address. If the community has a gate, add the entry note to the booking. The gate tells us how to arrive. It does not tell us which bracket the room needs.

Questions

FAQ

Still have a question? Give us a call. We're happy to help.

Does a Fairmount or Mistletoe Heights address mean the wall is original wood framing?

No. Those districts are known for early wood-frame houses, and the city guide describes bungalows as the common Fairmount form. Remodels and infill are common. Photos of the actual wall, including any patch or added finish, matter more than the district name.

Should a Westover Hills or Alliance-area address use this page?

Use the city on the installation address. Westover Hills is a separate city. Far-north Fort Worth streets can still be Fort Worth. Enter that full address to see appointment times, and add any gate instructions for the community you are in.
