The Mounting Man was in Edina today for one of our favorite types of installations — a 55-inch Samsung Frame TV mounted above the fireplace. The Samsung Frame is already one of the cleanest-looking TVs on the market, but when you pair it with the right installation technique, it truly looks like a piece of art hanging on the wall. That's exactly what we delivered here.
This 55-inch Samsung Frame was mounted on drywall directly above the fireplace using Samsung's slim-fit wall mount, which allows the TV to sit flush against the wall for that signature picture-frame look. We secured the mount with lag bolts into wall studs for a rock-solid hold.
The real highlight of this installation was the recess box. One of the biggest challenges with above-fireplace Samsung Frame installations is figuring out where to put the One Connect box — that's the external component that houses all of the TV's inputs and connections, linked to the screen by a single thin cable. On top of that, the homeowner also had a cable box that needed to be connected.
Our solution was to install a recess box inside the fireplace cavity behind the TV. This created a clean, hidden compartment to house both the One Connect box and the cable box completely out of sight. No visible cables, no cluttered mantel, no equipment sitting on a shelf somewhere — just a seamless, flush-mounted Samsung Frame that looks exactly the way it was designed to look.
This is the kind of detail that makes all the difference. Anyone can hang a TV on a wall, but concealing every piece of equipment and every cable so the final result looks effortless? That's what The Mounting Man is all about.
Edina is known for its beautifully designed homes, from the classic estates around Country Club and Morningside to the modern renovations throughout Countryside and Indian Hills. Edina homeowners care about aesthetics, and the Samsung Frame fits right in. When the TV is off, it displays artwork that blends seamlessly with the room's décor — no big black rectangle dominating the wall.
Above-fireplace installations are especially popular in Edina, where fireplaces are often the centerpiece of the living room. Pairing a Samsung Frame with a professional installation that hides all equipment and cabling gives homeowners the premium, polished look they're after.
The Mounting Man offers a full range of TV mounting and home integration services throughout Edina, including Samsung Frame TV installations with slim-fit wall mounts, recess box installations for hidden equipment storage, One Connect box concealment and cable management, above-fireplace mounting on drywall, brick, and stone, in-wall cable concealment and power bridge installations, and full-motion and tilt bracket setups.
