The Mounting Man serves Edina, one of the Twin Cities' most prestigious suburbs known for its beautiful tree-lined streets, historic architecture, and discerning homeowners. From the stately Colonial and Tudor homes of the Country Club District to the modern builds near Southdale, Edina's classic elegance deserves installations that honor its refined character.
We just completed a 55" Samsung Frame installation above a gas fireplace in a beautifully designed Edina living room. The homeowners had created a stunning focal point with built-in glass-front display cabinets flanking a clean, modern fireplace surround—and they wanted their TV to complement that aesthetic rather than compete with it.
The Samsung Frame was the perfect choice. With Art Mode displaying a pastoral farmhouse scene, the TV transforms into a piece of gallery art when not in use, blending seamlessly with the sophisticated décor.
This installation required a methodical approach to achieve that perfectly flush look the Frame is known for. Here's how we handled it:
Using a stud finder, we located the wall studs behind the drywall. On installations like this, studs are typically spaced 16 inches on center, but they don't always line up perfectly with where your bracket needs to go. That was exactly the case here.
On one side of the bracket, we were able to hit a stud solidly. We pre-drilled a pilot hole and secured that side with a 5/16" x 3" lag bolt driven directly into the wood framing—that single lag bolt can support well over 200 pounds on its own.
For the right side of the bracket, where no stud was available, we used a spiral toggle anchor to keep the bracket secured flush against the wall. This prevents any wobble or gap between the bracket and the drywall surface.
On the opposite end, we installed heavy-duty snap toggles rated at 230 pounds each. These SNAPTOGGLE anchors are the industry standard for drywall mounting—you drill a half-inch pilot hole, insert the metal toggle through the wall where it snaps open behind the drywall, and then tighten down the bolt which pulls everything secure.
Now, I realize this level of hardware is overkill for a TV that weighs about 40 pounds. But here's the thing: when you're mounting thousands of TVs per year like we are, overkill is the name of the game. We'd rather have every installation rated for ten times the actual load than ever have a callback because something wasn't secure enough. That's how you earn 755+ five-star reviews.
Edina homes span a remarkable range of architectural styles. The Country Club District—one of the first master-planned communities in Minnesota—features Colonial, Mediterranean, Tudor, and Georgian homes built between 1924 and 1944, many now protected as historic properties. Morningside offers charming Craftsman bungalows with character walls that require extra care. Newer construction near Southdale and in areas like Indian Hills tends toward contemporary designs with clean lines and open floor plans.
Our technicians respect these architectural elements while delivering modern TV installations. Whether we're working with original plaster walls in a 1920s home or mounting on the clean drywall of new construction, we adapt our approach to each home's unique characteristics.
We provide Samsung Frame installation with proper One Connect Box placement, fireplace mounting with heat assessment and optimal viewing angles, cable concealment solutions including in-wall routing and power bridge kits, MantelMount installations for pull-down convenience, and custom solutions that respect Edina's architectural heritage.
