When you've got a 75-inch TV, you want to be able to enjoy it from anywhere in the room. This Edina homeowner opted for a full-motion bracket that lets them pull the TV out from the wall, swivel it side to side, and tilt it up or down—maximum flexibility for a screen this size.
We mounted this 75-inch TV on a heavy-duty full-motion bracket, securing it firmly into the wall studs. With a TV this large, the full-motion mount needs to be absolutely solid—these brackets support significant weight, especially when the TV is extended away from the wall. We use lag bolts into studs, no exceptions.
You can see the articulating arm of the bracket on the left side of the TV. When pushed flat against the wall, it keeps a relatively low profile. When pulled out, it gives the homeowner the ability to angle the screen toward different seating areas or adjust for glare from windows.
The homeowner decided to handle the cord concealment themselves to save on the installation cost. This is a perfectly reasonable approach—external cord covers are available at any hardware store and are straightforward to install. The important thing is that the TV is securely mounted and positioned correctly, which we took care of.
The bigger the TV, the more you benefit from positioning flexibility. A 75-inch screen viewed from a bad angle doesn't look great. Full-motion lets you optimize the viewing experience whether you're on the main couch, in a side chair, or entertaining guests throughout the room.
