Three Hours Through Brick

This was a 55-inch Samsung Frame TV mounted above a fireplace in a bedroom in Wayzata. Huge home, and it's a brick home, so this was an exterior wall. They wanted a power bridge installed with power behind the Samsung Frame TV for a completely clean look.

There was so much brick behind the drywall that it took about three hours just to install that recess box. I had to find a way through that brick to route the electrical properly. But it turned out perfectly in the end — you'd never know there was a battle with brick happening behind that wall.

The Challenge of Brick Behind Drywall

Older and higher-end homes in Wayzata often have brick construction behind their drywall, especially on exterior walls. This makes power bridge installations significantly more challenging because you're not just cutting through drywall — you're dealing with solid masonry. It requires specialized tools, patience, and experience to get through the brick without causing damage to the surrounding wall. This is exactly the kind of job that separates a professional installation from a DIY attempt.

Wayzata's Unique Home Characteristics

Wayzata is home to some of the most impressive properties in the Twin Cities, and many of them feature brick construction. These homes are beautiful, but they present unique challenges for TV mounting and cord concealment. My experience working with brick, stone, and masonry throughout the area means I know what to expect and how to handle it.
