Minnetonka homes often feature stunning fireplaces as the heart of their living spaces—whether it's a traditional brick focal point or a modern stone accent wall. When homeowners want to combine that fireplace elegance with premium entertainment, they need expert installation that respects both the fireplace and the TV. That's where The Mounting Man comes in, and we recently completed a beautiful project that proves it.
Recent Minnetonka Fireplace Installation
We just finished mounting a 65-inch TV above a gorgeous brick fireplace for a Minnetonka homeowner with impeccable taste. The challenge was significant: mounting securely to stone requires precision drilling, proper anchoring, and careful heat management to protect both the TV and the installation hardware. On top of that, the homeowners wanted to maintain the elegant appearance of their custom built-in shelving on either side of the fireplace.
Our solution was a professional-grade fireplace mount that sits securely on the stone facade, with all hardware properly countersunk to blend seamlessly with the brick. We routed all cables strategically, and the homeowners made a savvy budget choice by concealing the remaining cord themselves after installation—keeping their costs down while maintaining that polished, magazine-worthy look.
The result? A stunning focal point that combines their love of fine design with modern entertainment. The 65-inch screen sits perfectly above the fireplace, anchored safely to the stone, and the integrated soundbar adds another layer of professional installation quality. The built-in shelving and warm wood tones create the perfect frame for this premium setup.
Stone Fireplace Mounting: The Technical Challenge
Mounting a TV to stone or brick isn't a DIY project. Here's why we excel at it: Stone is denser and less forgiving than drywall, requiring specialized drill bits, the right anchors, and knowledge of proper load-bearing capacity. We use commercial-grade Tapcon screws and heavy-duty anchors rated for this exact application. We also assess heat output from the fireplace to ensure safe distances and proper ventilation around the TV and mounting hardware. One missed calculation, and you're looking at equipment failure or safety issues down the road.
