This Plymouth, Minnesota homeowner had a classic above-the-fireplace setup — a 65-inch TV mounted onto drywall directly above their fireplace mantel. The drywall above the mantel made for a straightforward installation, with studs in good positions for a secure mount.
Above-fireplace installations are one of the most common requests we get in Plymouth. Homeowners love the look of the TV centered over the mantel, and it keeps the screen at a comfortable viewing height from most living room seating arrangements.
When mounting above a fireplace, we always assess the heat output to make sure the TV won't be affected. For gas fireplaces with mantels like this one, the mantel typically deflects heat away from the wall above, making it a safe location for the TV. We also check for any non-standard framing that sometimes shows up around fireplace surrounds.
Fireplace mounts are one of our most popular installations in Plymouth. The Mounting Man has the experience and hardware to handle any fireplace setup — drywall, brick, stone, or combination surfaces.
