This Plymouth, Minnesota home featured a modern gas fireplace with a clean drywall surround and a floating mantel shelf. The homeowner wanted a 65-inch TV mounted above the fireplace using a tilt bracket, and the result is a sleek, contemporary setup that ties the whole room together.
We mounted the tilt bracket directly into the studs above the fireplace, securing it with lag bolts. The tilt function is key for above-fireplace installations — it angles the screen downward toward the seating area, reducing neck strain and improving the picture quality from the viewing position below.
Newer Plymouth homes often feature these clean, modern fireplace designs with drywall surrounds rather than traditional brick or stone. The installation process is similar to a standard drywall mount, but we always check for any non-standard framing around the fireplace chase that could affect stud placement.
Above-fireplace installations are among the most requested services in Plymouth. The Mounting Man has experience with every fireplace style and surface type found in Twin Cities homes.
