This installation presented a beautiful opportunity: a wood-slat accent wall above a brick fireplace. The client wanted the TV mounted at the perfect height without any visible wiring for now—they're planning a future cord concealment upgrade. I used a tilt bracket to get the TV positioned cleanly on the slats with the panel sitting flush against the wall.
Working with wood slats requires a slightly different approach than drywall. Instead of hunting for studs behind finished material, I fastened directly into the solid wood backing behind the slats. The result is rock-solid—this mount isn't going anywhere.
The space between the brick fireplace and the wooden mantel is tight, but it's the perfect spot for a 65-inch TV. The tilt mount gives the homeowners full control over their viewing angle, which matters when you're sitting at different distances around the room. And with the clean lines of the wood slats as a frame, the TV becomes part of the room's design rather than just an appliance on a wall.
