This Plymouth, Minnesota homeowner wanted a 75-inch TV mounted above their stacked stone fireplace using a tilt mounting bracket. Stacked stone is always a demanding surface to work with, and adding a large 75-inch screen to the equation means every anchor point needs to be absolutely solid.
We drilled into the stone using a hammer drill with masonry bits, then secured the tilt bracket with heavy-duty masonry anchors rated for the weight. The tilt function is especially useful on fireplace installations since the TV typically sits higher than eye level — tilting it downward brings the picture into the optimal viewing angle from the couch.
Mounting a 75-inch TV on stone requires extra attention to weight distribution. We spread the anchor points across the bracket to distribute the load evenly across the stone surface. This prevents any single point from bearing too much stress, which is especially important on surfaces where the material can vary in density from one spot to another.
Stone fireplace installations are a regular part of our work in Plymouth. The Mounting Man has the specialized masonry tools and experience to handle any stone surface with confidence.
