Stone fireplaces present some of the most challenging mounting surfaces we work with, but this Plymouth home had a major advantage—an existing conduit running from behind the TV location down into the cabinet on the right side of the fireplace. That conduit makes all the difference for cable management.
For the mount itself, we drilled into the stone using a hammer drill with masonry bits and secured the tilt bracket with heavy-duty masonry anchors. Stone is unforgiving—you need to get it right the first time, because re-drilling into stone is not ideal. We mapped our anchor points carefully, confirmed everything was level, and secured the bracket.
Once the 75-inch TV was hung on the tilt bracket, we ran all HDMI and power cables through the existing conduit and into the cabinet. The homeowner can access all their components—cable box, streaming devices, gaming consoles—inside the cabinet while the TV floats cleanly above the stone fireplace with nothing visible.
Plymouth homes feature a wide variety of stone fireplaces, from stacked stone to natural fieldstone to manufactured stone veneer. Each type requires a slightly different approach, but the fundamentals are the same: masonry drill bits, proper anchors, and careful planning. We've mounted TVs on every type of stone surface across Plymouth.
