This Plymouth, Minnesota basement featured an impressive entertainment area with stacked stone columns flanking the TV wall and a linear electric fireplace built into the lower portion. The homeowner wanted their 86-inch TV mounted in this tight space between the stone columns, and a full-motion bracket was the right call.
The full-motion bracket allows the TV to be pulled away from the wall and angled to different seating positions in the basement — crucial in a room like this where the stone columns create a defined niche for the screen. We mounted the bracket onto the drywall section between the columns, hitting studs with lag bolts for a secure hold that can handle the weight of this massive TV even when extended on the arm.
When a TV needs to go in a niche or between architectural features, full-motion brackets give you the flexibility to adjust the viewing angle without being locked into one position. This is especially useful for 86-inch screens where even a slight angle adjustment makes a big difference in picture quality from different seats.
