Maple Grove sits in the heart of the Twin Cities north metro, a community defined by its thoughtfully designed mid-century homes, tree-lined streets, and residents who take pride in creating premium living spaces. Today we installed a beautiful 55-inch Roku TV above a striking stone fireplace—and it's a perfect example of why Maple Grove homeowners trust The Mounting Man for their most important installations.
Location: Above stone fireplace in Maple Grove home
TV Size: 55-inch Roku TV
Mounting Bracket: Sanus 4D Tilt Bracket
Wall Surface: Drywall
Installation Date: February 6, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.
The Sanus 4D tilt bracket is honestly our favorite mounting solution for fireplace installations, and this Maple Grove home is the perfect showcase. Here's why it works so well: the adjustable tilt function lets us dial in the exact viewing angle, which is critical when mounting a TV above a fireplace where neck strain becomes a real concern. The four-point articulation gives us flexibility that standard fixed brackets simply can't match.
For this installation, the tilt capability was essential. The stone fireplace base and drywall surface above created a specific height requirement, and the 4D bracket let us position the TV at the ideal angle for comfortable viewing from the living room seating area. No compromise on picture quality, no awkward neck angles—just professional-grade comfort.
Mounting above a fireplace on drywall presents two distinct challenges: first, you're dealing with heat considerations from the firebox below, and second, you need structural integrity that rivals stud-mounted installations. We located the wall studs and anchored the Sanus bracket securely into the solid framing, ensuring it handles the 55-inch TV's weight with confidence. The bracket's engineering means we didn't need to compromise on placement for the sake of stud alignment—the 4D design gives us professional installation options that budget brackets simply lack.
Cable management was routed cleanly along the stone surround and concealed behind the TV, creating that clean, finished look that separates a professional installation from a DIY attempt.
Maple Grove homes often feature clean architectural lines, quality masonry work, and living spaces designed for family gatherings. This fireplace installation exemplifies that—the stone surround is a design anchor, and the TV placement respects both the fireplace's presence and the room's overall aesthetics. The Sanus 4D bracket's sleek profile keeps the focus on the content and the fireplace, not the mounting hardware.
